Coaching Staff

Coach Iossi was appointed Head Coach of the Central High School Rockets football program prior to the 2022 season. He originally joined the Rockets' coaching staff in 2018, serving as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator.

A graduate at Glenbard North High School, Coach Iossi continued his playing career at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. He currently lives in Plato Township, Illinois, with his wife Kristen and their two children, Cade and Raeghan.

Coach Scoliere has been a key member of the Central Rockets football staff since 2018 and currently serves as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. In addition to overseeing the defense, he works closely with both the Running Backs and Linebackers units.

A graduate of Marmion Academy, Coach Scoliere continued his playing career at North Dakota State University, where he developed a deep understanding of the game at a high level.

Coach Hultgren joined the Central Rockets coaching staff in 2022 and currently serves as the Varsity Defensive Line Coach and Head Coach of the Junior Varsity team.

A proud East Aurora alumnus, Coach Hultgren continued his playing career at the United States Air Force Academy and later at the University of Iowa, gaining valuable experience at the collegiate level. He resides in St. Charles with his wife, Kristin, and their three children: Zach, Ben, and Eleanor.

Coach Hartwig joined the Central Rockets coaching staff in 2023, bringing with him a passion for player development and a diverse background in both playing and coaching. A McHenry High School graduate, he continued his football career at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions, including cornerback, safety, running back, and wide receiver.

Coach Hartwig began his coaching career at Johnsburg High School, serving as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator for four seasons. After earning his master’s degree in School Counseling, he joined the staff at Central High School. In his first season with the Rockets, he worked with the Varsity wide receivers and defensive backs.

Coach Hartwig is committed to growing the football program at CHS by increasing student participation, building student-athletes of strong character and accountability, and helping the Rockets earn their way into the IHSA playoffs.

Coach Henderson joined the Central Rockets coaching staff in 2025, bringing with him a strong passion for mentorship, player development, and teaching the game the right way. A proud Barrington High School alumnus, he continued his football career at the collegiate level at Robert Morris University and Rockford University. While football has always been a major part of his life, coaching is where his true passion lies.

Coach Henderson is deeply committed to helping young athletes grow into disciplined, confident young men, using football as a powerful tool to teach accountability, leadership, and life lessons both on and off the field. His experience working with running backs and offensive units has allowed him to build strong relationships with players while emphasizing effort, toughness, and personal growth.

Coach Henderson is dedicated to contributing to the continued growth of the Central football program by developing student-athletes of strong character and preparing them for success beyond the game.

Coach Kafer joined the Central Rockets coaching staff in 2022 after an accomplished 17-year career as Athletic Director at Geneva Community High School, where he led one of the most successful athletic eras in school history. Under his leadership, Geneva teams won five state championships, 34 sectional titles, and over 100 conference championships—transforming the athletic program and facilities across the board.

A former standout running back and sprinter at City High School (IA) and Buena Vista College, Coach Kafer brings a strong background in both coaching and player development. His previous coaching experience includes football, track, and baseball roles at the high school and collegiate levels, including stints at Carroll High School (IA), St. Edward High School, and Illinois Benedictine College.

Coach Kafer lives with his wife, Joyce, and remains passionate about mentoring student-athletes and building high-character programs.

Coach Dalen joined the Central Rockets football staff in 2023 as a volunteer assistant at the Freshman/Sophomore level. His dedication and enthusiasm for the program quickly earned him a promotion to Sophomore Defensive Coordinator.

A passionate supporter of Central High School athletics, Coach Dalen is a familiar face at a wide range of school events, consistently demonstrating his commitment to the CHS community and its student-athletes.

Coach Connor joined the Central Rockets football staff in 2021 as a volunteer assistant at the Freshman/Sophomore level. A passionate and detail-oriented coach, he brings valuable experience from his time with the Northern Illinois University football program, where he served as a manager and student coach.

Coach Connor earned his degree in Special Education from NIU in 2022 and is committed to supporting student-athletes both on and off the field.

Coach Klein is joining the Central Rockets football staff for the 2023 season as the Freshman Defensive Coordinator, working with the linebackers and offensive line/wide receivers.

Prior to coming to Central, Coach Klein spent seven years at Geneva High School, where he served as the Freshman Defensive Coordinator and worked with multiple positions, including the offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, running backs, and wide receivers.

Coach Klein lives in Sycamore, Illinois, and works as an Adapted Physical Education teacher for the Mid Valley Special Education Cooperative, entering his eighth year with the organization. He is excited to contribute to the Central High School Football program and be an active part of the Central community.

Coach San Miguel is joining the Central Rockets football staff for the 2026 season. He specializes in wide receiver and defensive back development, speed/agility training and overall athletic performance.

Coach San Miguel is from Marengo and attended Marengo Community High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Athletic Coaching from Illinois State University. 

Following graduation, he completed an internship with Major Sports Performance, where he gained experience under Jordan Westerkamp in wide receiver coaching and sports performance training. He is passionate about helping athletes improve their confidence, discipline, and athletic performance. As well as their character on and off the field.
