Good Morning Rocket Football!

What a great week last week! Between the hard work our team put in and the success of our women’s soccer and men’s baseball teams it was a phenomenal week on Rocket Hill! Thank you to all of those that were able to get out and support those teams, I have received numerous texts and emails for their support of those programs! Schedule for this week, below. It should be another great week on Rocket Hill! 

In addition to our normal 7-9 am schedule, our seniors/upperclassmen will be running an open gym/optional practice from 9-10 am on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This is completely optional but an opportunity to start doing some football drills with our upperclassmen.

Looking Ahead - Vacation Planning through the summer of 2026

I have planned out our basic summer camp dates for the next 3 summers to better help with vacation planning and to minimize the amount of time our players miss practice. Please see below for our summer off weeks through 2026.

Summer 2025

6/7/25 - 6/15/25 (June off week)

6/27/25 - 7/6/25 (July 4th off week)

8/1/25 - 8/10/25 (IHSA dead week)


Summer 2026

6/6/26 - 6/14/26 (June off week)

Rocket Football Families,

Quick midweek message, I will send out a more detailed email later this week. REMINDER that tomorrow is the spring freshman athletics night from 7-8 pm in the main gym and fieldhouse followed by our spring parent meeting in the auditorium from 8-8:30 pm. The spring parent meeting is for ALL levels. 

Summer Camp Registration

PLEASE FOLLOW THE REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS AT THE TOP OF THE BROCHURE (There are 2 steps you need complete ino order to be successfully registered). I cannot stress that enough. Registration for summer camp will TEMPORARILY close on Friday, May 24th @ 3:00 pm so the athletic department can double check registrations and payments. PLEASE REGISTER PRIOR TO FRIDAY MAY 24TH, It will make all of our lives easier.

Spring Program Meeting

We will hold a spring parent and player informational meeting on Tuesday, May 14th @ 8:00 pm in the CHS Auditorium. I realize this may be late in the evening but we are piggybacking on the incoming freshman extracurricular night that begins at 7:00 pm in the main gym to try to increase our attendance numbers.This is a great opportunity to meet our coaching staff and here information regarding our summer camp and upcoming season, please try your best to be in attendance. We will hold a fall informational meeting as well (TBD).

Good Morning Rocket Football Families,

This will be one of the larger messages of the off-season for Football. There is a lot of information below, please make sure to read all of it. Summer Camp Registration

Summer camp registration opened up this morning (4/2/24) @ 9:00 am. Please register for summer camp ASAP. Summer camp is separate from in-season registration, you will need to register again for the fall season when that opens up sometime in the summer. If you plan to play football in the fall, I highly HIGHLY recommend you also attend summer camp. While there are a lot of summer camps happening during the summer, we try our best not to overlap with other sports and when we do we are all very flexible. Please see the links below for the summer camp brochure as well as flyers for both the high school and youth football camps (Camp calendar information is also below). Summer Calendar

I have attached an updated summer calendar (The calendar is still subject to change but I will send a separate communication if that happens). Please remember that summer camp is very important for every level as it is considered our pre-season. Every effort should be made to attend as much as possible. I have also added in the first 3 weeks of the fall season beginning on August 12th. These dates are MANDATORY for all levels as this is the start of our actual season and there is a minimum practice requirement in order to be eligible for the first game as outlined by the IHSA.

Off-season behavior and grades

Players are held to the same standard for behavior and grades whether we are in season or out of season and are subject to any consequences that come with poor decision making. We have done a pretty good job of minimizing any grade or behavior issues this off-season and something I am very proud of. Please continue to help monitor grades and keep them up (especially if your son wants to play football at the college level)  This is bigger than football and aligns with our goals of helping to mold, influence, and build better young men!
