2018/10: Cancer awareness by Claudia Carneiro

Professora Cláudia Martins Carneiro, responsável há cinco anos pelo projeto “Monitoramento da qualidade do exame de Papanicolau”, faz palestra pública sobre a campanha de saúde.

O movimento vem ganhando força a cada ano com o objetivo de levar conscientização sobre a prevenção do câncer de mama e colo de útero. Busca informar as mulheres sobre a prevenção e diagnóstico precoce do câncer, além da desmistificação da doença.

Dr. Dani Ushizima and CRIC team adapted algorithms used in materials research to screen for cervical cancer cells, and described her research in a panel discussion at the Sept. 21 East Bay Biden Cancer Community Summit. A common thread in each speaker's presentation was the importance of federally funded research in developing new methods to prevent and treat cancer.
