Arriving by plane or train by public transportation

The Institut Fresnel is located 26 km away from the Marseille airport (MRS). It takes about an hour to get to the institute from the airport by bus and metro:

1. Take the airport shuttle ("navette") to Marseille-Gare Saint Charles (Marseille train station). The shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes, journey time is about 25 minutes, and the one-way ticket fare costs 8.30 euros.

2. From the train station (Gare Saint Charles), take the blue metro line (line 1, direction "La Rose"). Get off at "Malpassé" (5 stops, 8-min metro ride). Take the bus B3A to "St Jérôme Parking Relais" (use the same metro ticket), and get off at “St Jérôme Faculté” (7 stops, 7-min bus ride). Walk 500 m to Institut Fresnel (6-min walk). You can also take a taxi from the airport to the institute. It takes 35 min and it costs ~50 euros.
