MY THESIS

I aim to perform an exhaustive and principled analysis of the relation between the argument structure and eventive structure of cognate object constructions at the syntax-semantic interface within the Distributed Morphology framework. I work towards deepening the current understanding of these constructions, thus contributing to current research on the study of the morphology-syntax-semantics interface. My thesis draws on several subfields of linguistics, using data from a variety of languages, including English, Spanish and Catalan. My supervisors are Isabel Oltra-Massuel and Elisabeth Gibert-Sotelo.
