My name is Celia Fullana. I received an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. I hold a master’s degree in Developmental Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh. I am currently enrolled in a PhD programme in Theoretical Linguistics at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
My thesis title is Cognate Objects Constructions: A Crosslinguistic study of the morphology-syntax-semantics interface, under the supervision of Dr Isabel Oltra-Massuel and Dr Elisabeth Gibert-Sotelo. My main research interests are argument structure, event structure and the syntax-lexicon interface. My research is centred especially in English and Romance languages, however, I regularly turn to other languages for support.
In 2020, I joined the research project Estructura argumental y procesamiento neurolingüístico en la interfaz léxico-sintaxis: Verbos inergativos con objeto cognado o complemento preposicional de régimen (FFI2016-80142-P). I am also a member of the research group on Language and Linguistics (ROLLING) at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, an interdisciplinary and heterogeneous group in the Department of English and German Studies and the Department of Catalan Studies.
I co-organize the weekly ROLLING Seminars in Linguistics. I actively collaborate in the organization of workshops and other academic activities, such as the 7-month linguistic course ROLLING Institute on Argument Structure and the workshop ARSLing II Workshop.
In the past, I volunteered in Bilingualism Matters, a research centre whose main focus is on bilingualism and language acquisition, at the University of Edinburgh. I have collaborated with Vicky Chondrogianni in the project Supporting children with language disorders in Gaelic-medium primary education.
