Oppression of Women in America

Hello, My name is Celeste Morgan. I'm currently a CCGA sophomore. My groups project is the oppression of women. We just felt like certain topics that fall under the broad umbrella of women's oppression. We cover the pay gap, oppression on social media, oppression on college campuses.

My personal subtopic was the Pink Tax/ Tampon tax. That is a tax on goods, services, and products that women buy or need. This originated from women's menstrual cycle supplies were looked at as a luxury so they placed a "luxury" tax on them. Then, this left the gate open for them to keep finding goods, services, and products that could be taxed a bit more because it's looked at as a luxury item for women.
