Being able to develop a tabletop card game has been a really enjoyable and insightful experience for me, especially since I’ve always loved playing card games with friends and family. Working on the creative side of things made me realize just how much effort goes into making a game fun and functional, from extensive playtesting to ensuring the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I never fully appreciated how much research and thought went into those details until I experienced it myself. Designing the game also taught me a lot about the importance of visual elements, like the art style and font choices, in creating an engaging experience. On top of that, working with my team was one of the highlights of this process, as we all shared the same passion for our tabletop game, which made brainstorming and discussions productive. Apart from that, I also learned a lot about game development in general through this module, like analyzing my favorite game and understanding how game mechanics work. This experience has definitely deepened my respect for the creativity and complexity involved in making games, especially ones I enjoy playing.

Overall it was ok, the module was interesting. Allowing the students to create a whole card game together. There were ups and downs when it came to group projects but as long as we were able to pull through everything should be fine.
The first step of finding an existing card game to be inspired by was easy since we had people that play card games often, we settled on Organ Attack since it has unique gameplay. After that, we have to think of a theme to go by. At first it was something about Humans against Nature but it was a little boring, but after some joke about killing the president someone mentioned about celebrity wars we usually see online so we went with the idea of Online Cancel Culture with celebrities.
Then we assign roles/work, I volunteer to draw the illustrations for the Attack, Defend, and Special cards. I decided to keep the style simple and have some of them referenced by memes.

Overall, the experience was pretty fun. From the smallest planning to the completion of a game, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. The most difficult part of the whole process was probably the lack of time, because within the specified time, I had to not only complete all the drawing and coloring. In addition, there were other module to be completed, which made the time a bit tight. When I saw the finished product in the end, I still felt a little relieved. This teaching not only made me realize the importance of teamwork, but also time management.

Overall, my experience with this module was both engaging and rewarding.
In the lectures, we comprehensively learned about the history both of the digital and analog games and various game patterns, which proved to be helpful in creating our table-top game. While I had played many titles of the game before, I had never made one myself, therefore analyzing existing games and utilizing those insights to our creation was quite challenging.
In particular, it was difficult to come up with an engaging and replayable theme that would captivate players. Initially, we focused on a "Humans vs Nature" game, but thanks to my teammate's sharp ideas, we shifted to a realistic and entertaining game centered around celebrities, and I like this theme very much.
In addition, the process of designing card role and creating manual were a lot of fun.

Overall, I really enjoyed my experience while working on this module. The module is super fun and it's honestly a very rewarding experience working towards a product collaboratively with others! Of course, there were up and downs and pain points that we had as a group that could definitely be improved on in the future, timely communication for example. I think one of the hardest parts about the module for me were the limited time we had to develop and design everything however we managed to pull through as a team and did our best! I was in charge of the manual and compiling the cards. Through this experience, I found out I really enjoy the R&D (Research and Development) process of product development. Throwing around ideas, bouncing creativity off each other made Team Chocobo grow closer and strive to work together to create a product we were all satisfied with. I've grown to realise the crucial importance of time management and timely communication through this module and will try my best to apply what I've learnt in other modules in the near future.

Through this process, I improved my skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and learning on how process on making a game. Challenges like playtesting multiple times to make sure the game can be playable, helped us grow as a team by fostering communication and compromise. Overall, the project taught me the importance of planning, adaptability, and leveraging each team member's strengths to create a cohesive and enjoyable game.
