Max Weinreich wrote this book (illustrations by Kayim Munits) for Gabi's seventh birthday, February 12, 1935. In 2000, Gabi self-published this edition with parallel English translation, which he dedicated to his grandchildren, their children, and children everywhere.

Gabi, Gerane, Rebecca and Tara traveled to Vilna in 1996.
L-to-Right: Zhenya (a childhood friend of Gabi's), Necha (daughter of a trademan who worked for Gabi's uncle Yasha), Gabi and Gerane in Niemież (Nemėžis), 5 miles southeast of Vilna. Later in life, Gabi's Boba and Zeyde spent their summers there.
