Token Board #1

I am working for...

This is an example of the first token board described in episode 3. This token board can be modified from ten tokens to five token to even fifteen tokens. This is a simple place to start if you are new to implementing token boards in your classroom or at home.

Token Board #2

These are token boards made for individual students and their specific interests. Start with all of the pieces off of the token board. As you see your student doing expected behavior add a token to the puzzle one at a time while specifically stating why you are giving the student a token. If the token board is visually appearance and geared toward what the student is working for, he or she will be more motivated to earn all the tokens.

2 Part Token Board

This token board allows the student to see what they are working for as well as a behavior or social skill they are personally working on. The bottom section provides a place for the teacher or parent to give warnings. These warnings will remind the student to look at the top section to see what they are working for and correct their behavior in order to earn tokens.

Episode 6

Playlist U 7 W 1
Adding & Subtracting Fractions Playlist

To the left is a google slide showing a what a playlist looks like. While students are working on their playlist, the teacher can work with students one on one or in a small group for more targeted instruction.

This playlist is in a tic-tac-toe format giving students voice and choice for which tasks they complete with the expectation that they complete three in a row, column, or diagonal.

(I display this playlist on the screen in my classroom as well as print it out for students so they can keep track of which activities they've done)

To the left is a different version of a playlist. This is a math playlist giving students 6 different choices for how to show their learning of adding and subtracting fractions.

Each box has directions for each choice so that all of the expectations are clear. Students can pick which method of showing work suites their strength.

By using this method the students take ownership and pride over their learning and are more engaged with the topic.

Distance Learning Daily Schedule - Sheet1.pdf

Daily Visual Schedule

To the left is an example of a schedule you can use at home during distance learning. Distance learning is defined as learning that occurs when teachers and students are in different settings. This schedule provides start and stop times to each block, as well as options of what to work on during each block.
