Meet Melanie!
Melanie is a Special Education teacher in Southern California and has a wide variety of experience teaching children and families with special needs. Melanie has an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education from Northern Arizona University, and a Masters Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism from San Diego State. She has been teaching for seven years in a special day class for students with Autism ranging from ages five to eleven. Melanie continues to mentor former students by providing strategies that help students navigate social rules as they get older. In addition to her work as a full time special education teacher and mentor, Melanie also spends her time advocating for families by providing coaching through the IEP process as well as providing strategies that can be applied in the home setting.
