Bigger and Better…
Palmyra Riverton Cinnaminson (PRC) Juneteenth Celebration
The 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held at Riverton Memorial Park in Riverton on June 19 from 4-8 pm. The PRC Juneteenth Committee strives to educate, entertain, and inspire residents about the importance of Juneteenth in honoring our history and highlighting the contributions of Black Americans to our communities.
Some exciting additions to this year’s program include:
A drill performance by Amped to Dance
A step performance by AKA Step Team
African dance performance.
New this year is the Ain't Nothing But a Party Band, a dynamic New Jersey-based dance band with an exciting R&B twist. Follow the band through Waggz Entertainment on Facebook here.
Returning this year will be a Land and Labor Acknowledgement. The Acknowledgement is a statement that recognizes that much of the economic progress and development in a geographic area or industry resulted from the unpaid labor and forced servitude of People of Color, specifically enslaved African labor.
Because this is an educational program, high school students from Cinnaminson and Palmyra will participate in the program through song and word.
For the kids, we will offer face painting, crafts, and fun bubbles, in addition to the playground located near the stage.
Bring a chair, enjoy the entertainment, support our vendors, and enjoy the refreshments.
