Privacy Policy — CEILING
Effective 2026-07-13
The short version
CEILING keeps your data on your device. There are no accounts, no sign in, no server that stores your information, no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no trackers.
What is stored, and where
Everything you create, including favorite fields, routes, personal minimums, alert rules, your check-in history, cached weather reports, and cached AI summaries, is stored locally on your device using Apple SwiftData. It never leaves your device except as described below. We do not operate a server that holds your data. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Weather data
Weather is fetched from the U.S. NOAA and NWS Aviation Weather Center, a free public service. Requests contain only the station identifiers you look up, for example KSFO. No personal identifier is attached.
AI features
When you use an AI feature, the app sends the already fetched, public weather data for that station plus your chosen role and minimums numbers through the Steppe Summit proxy to an AI service, which generates the summary. The request contains no account, no name, no email, and no location. It is used only to produce your summary and is not used to build a profile of you. If you never use an AI feature, nothing is ever sent to the AI service.
Location
Location is used only when you tap nearest, and only once, to find airports near you. Your coordinates are used for that lookup and are never stored or shared.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. CEILING never sees or stores your payment details. We only receive Apple confirmation of what you are entitled to.
Deleting your data
In the app, Settings then Reset All Data removes every favorite, route, profile, alert, and your history. Deleting the app removes everything.
