I know you may have a lot of questions about what a strike vote could mean, at this point we know that a strong YES vote from membership on April 11 will show the government that the NSTU stands 100% in solidarity with our bargaining team. A strong yes mandate from members will provide a better bargaining position for them when they return to the table on April 15. If you have questions you can start by looking at https://nstu.ca/strike-vote. The NSTU is updating this section of the website as questions come in from members (strikevote@nstu.ca) and there are other useful resources that may help inform our members about the bargaining process to date.
Below you will find an Infographic created by Taunya Pynn-Crowe, our local PE member, which clearly lays out the reasons we should all vote YES on April 11.

I would like to thank all new and returning reps. Reps keep our union strong and deliver information to all members at their site. Please reach out to your rep if you have questions or you are a new member. Every school staff meeting should have 15 minutes dedicated to NSTU business, and if your school or work site does not have a rep it should be decided during the first two days. Every school had a welcome back letter sent to reps which should have arrived in time for day one.
The first general meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 26 at the Truro Fire Hall at 6pm. All local members are welcome to attend!
