CEDAR West, Inc. is a non-profit coal educational program serving the following four counties in the Western Kentucky coal field: Henderson, Hopkins, Union, and Webster. CEDAR West's goal is to educate K-12 students and teachers, as well as increase public awareness of the coal industry and its contributions to Kentucky's history, economy, and energy needs.
While CEDAR West was sidelined during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2024-25 school year brought the grant and Coal Fair opportunities back to the schools. We are excited to continue our mission of education through the 2025-26 school year and welcome all applicants from the counties we serve.
