Twenty-first Century Students must be prepared to think critically, design creatively, work collaboratively, and embrace their community. Makerspace allows students to flex these 21st-century skills. The library is no longer simply a place to find a good book or listen to a good story (although that is still my favorite thing about it!) it is a place to find what you need and put your ideas into practice. Makerspaces allow students to engage in a hands on learning experience while having access to the information that could improve their Maker skills.
Cedar Trails is equipped with a Makerspace where students can work collaboratively, exploring shared interests through technology and creativity! Check out this article about the Neuroscience of making!
