In order to book the Cedar Shores Social Room, you will need to read and agree to the Cedar Shores Social Room Rules and Responsibilities listed below.
Your specific responsibilities and expectations for the condition in which you leave the room after your event are also detailed below.
I understand that:
I must be present for the entire event.
Noise must be kept to a minimum.
The pool is not to be used in conjunction with lounge bookings.
Smoking is prohibited in and near the lounge.
Everyone must leave the building by 11:00 PM (Sunday - Thursday) or 12 AM (Friday - Saturday).
I will clean and restore the lounge to its original condition before the end of my booking.
If the booking ends at closing time, I may finish cleaning the next morning before 9 am if the room has not been booked by someone else.
I will pay for any extra cleaning or damages within one week of notification.
If I do not pay, interest may be added, and I will lose lounge privileges until charges are paid in full.
I will inform the booking volunteer promptly (via email or phone) if I need to change or cancel my booking.
Misused bookings may result in suspension of future use.
Before leaving the Cedar Shores Social Room, you must complete the following cleaning tasks to restore the lounge to its original condition:
✅ Wash, dry, and put away any used dishes and kitchen utensils.
✅ Wipe down all tables and surfaces; mop up any spills.
✅ Dry mop or vacuum the lounge and kitchen floor.
✅ Return all furniture to its original position.
✅ Empty all garbage and recycling bins.
✅ Clear the fridge of anything you and your guests placed there.
✅ Turn off all lights, appliances, air conditioner, and unplug fireplace.
✅ Set thermostat to 20°C.
✅ Launder and return any used kitchen cloths by the next day.
✅ Ensure that both entry doors (outside patio and inside hallway) and closed and locked -- even if you didn't use them!
⚠️ Failure to complete the cleaning checklist may result in charges for extra cleaning and suspension of future booking privileges.
