Some IEEE Major Accomplishments

1. Technical Excellence Boost: As Computer Society (COMP) President, she initiated the process to create the IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society and the IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence. To strengthen industry engagement, she appointed the majority of Vice-Presidents from industry and started the process to create the COMP Committee for Industry Engagement. As IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing Editor-in-Chief, she succeeded in increasing significantly the IF.

2. Innovation Enhancement: As Computing Now Editor-in-Chief, she launched multilingual content (in Chinese and Spanish), a section with industrial experts’ videos, and a column on education. As COMP President, she pioneered and chaired an innovative format event for networking and engagement with industry, with active participation from Intel, NVIDIA, STMicroelectronics, Bombardier, Synopsys, ARM, Ferrari, and Lamborghini.  

3. Cooperation: Throughout 30+ years of IEEE volunteer service, she always fostered cooperation. Today she is the IEEE Society/Council Congress Vice Co-Chair, and the Chair of the AdHoc Subcommittee on Enhanced Collaboration among Societies/Councils. She co-founded/co-chairs the IEEE Metaverse initiative, involving several Societies/Councils. As COMP President, she started the IEEE COMP Global Chapter Summit, with the cooperation of IEEE MGA and the Europe office.
