Position Statement

Technology is rapidly evolving, posing technical and ethical challenges, in many areas relevant to IEEE such as pervasive AI, energy, communication, robotics, chip fabrication, and quantum.

To remain at the forefront, TAB should enhance technical excellence in all activities and empower volunteers with innovative tools and resources to achieve this goal. AI will help, but its responsible and ethical adoption should be guaranteed, as well as AI data governance and security.

Also, TAB should incorporate innovation in all activities, to never lag technological trends pioneered by Companies/Universities. To this end, industrial representativeness should be improved, also to enhance TAB's ability to support students and young professionals in their professional growth. Young members are our future; TAB should account for their needs and preferences, also in the evolving communication and networking realms.

All of this could be pursued only with strong cooperation within TAB, between TAB and all IEEE constituencies, and external technical institutions/professional associations, thus also enhancing the IEEE interdisciplinary and international outreach.

If elected, boosting technical excellence, innovation, and cooperation will be my primary objectives, also as means to advance technology for the benefit of humanity, as per a cohesive IEEE mission and professional success of all its members.
