Mezzotinta sobre plástico

Si bien el cobre es el soporte histórico de la mezzotinta, el contexto dicta nuevas materialidades. He adaptado la técnica tradicional a matrices de polímero, preparándolas para alcanzar el negro absoluto y luego rescatar la luz mediante el bruñido, tal como se haría sobre metal. Esta elección, nacida de la necesidad, se ha convertido en un lenguaje propio.

While copper is the historical support for mezzotint, context dictates new materialities. I have adapted the traditional technique to polymer plates, preparing them to achieve absolute black and then retrieving the light through burnishing, just as one would do on metal. This choice, born of necessity, has evolved into a language of its own.

Respiro nombra esa experiencia mínima de existir cuando la mente se ha apartado: dejar pasar el aire, soltar una forma blanca en medio de la oscuridad y sostenerse, por un instante, en ese gesto. 

Breath names that minimal experience of existing when the mind has drifted away: letting the air pass, releasing a white form in the midst of darkness, and holding on, for an instant, to that gesture. 

La imagen se convierte en una metáfora de la condición humana: nuestra búsqueda constante de comprensión enfrentada a límites, interrupciones y desvíos. 

The image becomes a metaphor for the human condition: our constant search for understanding confronted by limits, interruptions, and detours.
