We highly recommend flying to Zagreb Airport (Franjo Tuđman Airport), as it offers the widest range of regular international flights. The airport is well connected to the city centre by a shuttle bus service operating approximately every 30 minutes. The shuttle takes passengers to Zagreb Central Bus Station, with a journey time of around 35–40 minutes. A one-way ticket costs 8 EUR.

Other useful information
The official language is Croatian. It is used in all official communication, documents, and public services. English is widely spoken, especially among younger people, students, and in tourism-related sectors. In larger cities and hotels, communication in English is usually not a problem.
Since 2023, Croatia uses the euro (€) as its official currency. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in cities, hotels, restaurants, and shops. However, in smaller towns or rural areas, it is still useful to carry some cash. ATMs are widely available across the country, even in smaller towns.
The standard electrical voltage in Croatia is 220–240 volts with a frequency of 50 Hz. The most commonly used plug type is Type F (Schuko), which is also compatible with Type C plugs in many cases. Travellers from countries with different plug types may need a universal travel adapter to charge electronic devices.
In October the weather is generally mild and autumn-like. In areas such as Orahovica, temperatures usually range between 10°C and 20°C, with cooler mornings and evenings. The weather can be changeable, and rain is possible during this period, so we recommend bringing layered clothing and a light rain jacket. We also advise checking the weather forecast shortly before arrival in order to pack accordingly.
Croatia is generally considered a very safe country for travellers. Tap water is safe to drink throughout the country. The general emergency number in Croatia is 112. Tipping is not mandatory, but it is appreciated as a sign of satisfaction with service (it is common to leave around 5–10% of the total bill, or simply round up the amount). Most shops are usually closed on Sundays. However, some larger supermarkets may operate with reduced working hours (typically until around 13:00), while shopping malls are generally open until the evening (around 21:00). Petrol stations are usually open every day and often operate 24/7, including on Sundays and public holidays.
