Dr. Ayana Foster, DACM, MAOM, L.Ac
Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Dr. Ayana Foster received her professional doctorate and master's degree from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC. She attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA for her undergraduate degree, receiving a B.S. in Kinesiology.
Ayana's enthusiasm for medicine begins with her hands. Her practice emphasizes the assessment of subtle qi and fluid dynamics through conscientious pulse taking and various bodywork techniques. She has a passion for Chinese medicine's pragmatic view of kinesiology, physiology and gastroenterology. With a background in western science, she has a nagging desire to learn the interdependent intricacies of the living human body. Ayana holds Chinese medicine in high esteem for its ability to explain complex scientific pathways and the impact of non-physical life experiences, such as emotions, on our physical body.
Ayana views Chinese medicine as a non-invasive and, at times, subconscious way of uncovering lost pathways of least resistance that lead to a personal sense of peace. When the river flows, the whole body, physical and non-physical, flourishes.
In her free time, Ayana enjoys crocheting, fermenting vegetables, and roller skating.
