PhD scholars gathered to give a warm welcome to the new batch PhD 2025. A fun evening filled with music, games, food, sweets and a lot of GupShup!!! :)
Students came together to celebrate and enjoy Diwali! 🪔The Shamiyana lighted up with diyas, sweets, rangoli and laughter.
The MA batch of 2024–26 organized a wonderful fresher’s party to warmly welcome their juniors to campus. With lively games, musical and dance performances, and a playful “Mismatch” costume theme, the evening was every bit as exciting as promised. The dinner and DJ party perfectly rounded off the celebration.Â
This year’s Onam celebration at CDS - Armaadham was a memorable two-week occasion filled with fun, frolic, and festive spirit. Steered by an energetic student committee, the event brought the whole community together in cultural activities, sports, and reflection.
Participants were divided into two teams - Boli and Payasam, reflecting both synergy and essence of friendly competition, much like the sweets their names represent. A discussion on the myth of Mahabali was organized, exploring both popular and overlooked narratives of the king’s identity and the diverse ways Onam is celebrated across Kerala. It left us reflecting on how everyone could feel part of the spirit of Onam.
The sports tournaments kept the energy high all along, encouraging participants to play for the joy of the game without worrying about their form. The spirit turned more adventurous with a fun game weekend and a thrilling Treasure Hunt across campus. The newly joined MA students shared that it was the perfect welcome into the community life of CDS. For others, the campus came alive as we playfully sparred and competed, cheered, and celebrated together.
The final day saw the campus adorned in eco-friendly decorations including a beautiful Pookkalam, followed by a grand Sadhya with around 20 dishes. It was as much a celebration of taste as of togetherness. Another lively round of performances and games including Tug of war and Pot breaking brought the celebration to a deserving climax. Team Payasam won the trophy by a narrow margin, but the sense of unity, shared effort and joy which made Armaadham unforgettable won the louder cheer.
