Unit 1: Physical Geography Fieldwork

Physical Geography Fieldwork

Remember that you will be assessed on your own experiences of fieldwork and also fieldwork in unfamiliar contexts

This means that you will need to be confident to talk about the fieldwork that we did at Swanage, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, as well as talking about other physical fieldwork (e.g. at a river).

There will be an 18 mark question, and you will need to be able to discuss each part of the Geographical enquiry sequence (link here).

Our Fieldwork - Coastal landscapes

How effective is coastal management at Swanage Bay?

This document summarises our Physical Geography fieldwork to Swanage Bay.

You need to revise each of the stages of the fieldwork enquiry process as you could be asked questions about exactly what we did.

Remember that you could also be asked questions about fieldwork that we have not done (see the next section).

Past paper examples (and the mark schemes) can be found at the bottom of this page.

Unseen Fieldwork - River landscapes

As you will also be assessed on fieldwork in unfamiliar contexts, if is useful to do some revision on how to conduct fieldwork in other physical landscapes, such as rivers.  Please see the video links below.
