CDI is committed to a Civilization of Love and envisions a society where people live in unity based on the values of justice and love.
Mission
The Mission of CDI is to restore human dignity and empower the poor and the marginalized. It is committed to empowering them with a special focus on women, girls, and children through capacity building, promotion of life skills, legal education, livelihood initiatives, care for the environment, and social security for self-sustainability through right based approach, to establish love, justice and peace in the society.
Work Areas
At present CDI coordinates the development programmes being carried out in 6 States of North East India covering 15 cities.
Strategies
• Community involvement and participation in social development through a right-based approach
• Creating linkages, networks, and synergies with existing schemes at various levels, with social partners, government, and non-government organizations: CBOs, NGOs, Women's groups
• Empowerment, capacity building, training, and providing opportunities
Activities & Programmes
The CDI members undertake development programs suited to the needs of the people in their work area. In general, these works can be grouped into six main programs.
