The full name of this center is the “Academia to Business Center, College of Management, National Chung Cheng University,” abbreviated as the “A2B Center.” Its mission is to pool the human resources of the College of Management to serve society and businesses, thereby fulfilling the university’s social responsibility. This Center originated in 2009 when Dean Shih-Ming Huang and Professor Hsin-Yuan Hong of the College of Management submitted an application to the Humanities Division of the National Science Council for the “Business-Industry-Academia Bridge” research project. According to the project requirements, the applicants were required to establish a college-level “Business-Industry-Academia Bridge Research Center” to serve as the corresponding liaison. In February 2010, the two applicants entrusted Professor Ho-Chyuan Chenof the Department of Economics with the task of carrying out related operatio ns and planning the establishment of the Center. The Center’s inaugural ceremony was formally held on October 31, 2010, in the atrium of the College of Management, attended by nearly 100 industry representatives. The Center’s office is located in Room 312 of the College of Management, and it functions as a college-level interdisciplinary center. Although the Center subsequently failed to secure funding from the Humanities Division of the National Science Council, the university resolved to continue advancing this initiative and provided financial support through the “Support for Forward-Looking and Distinctive Development Program” from the university’s operational fund. Approximately three years later, in alignment with the Ministry of Education’s “College-Level Interdisciplinary Distinctive Programs,” the university shifted funding to this program, making the Center one of the five college-level interdisciplinary distinctive research centers known today. Starting in September 2019, to enhance free business consulting services and fulfill the university’s social responsibility, the center relocated from Room 312 in the College of Management to its current office (Rooms 510 and 511 in the College of Management).
