Soldering 101. Craft Your Own Mini Game Console
This is an interactive workshop where participants learn the basics of soldering and electronics while building their own mini handheld game console.
Math on the Drop: Experimenting with Parachutes
How do engineers design parachutes that can slow down spacecraft, satellites, or supply drops safely to Earth? Come design and test your own parachute using a tissue paper canopy and a small load. Through experimentation and mathematical modeling, you’ll explore the motion of parachutes, investigate drag forces, and discover how mass and canopy area influence terminal velocity.
Join us to see how math and science power innovation in flight and space exploration. You’ll also meet CCSU students affiliated with Pratt & Whitney, who will share their experiences applying for internships and jobs, and how their degree preparation led them to careers in aerospace.
Special guests (students affiliated with Pratt & Whitney): David Stolarz, Karen Ninson
