Sheriff Jake A. Clark assumed his role on September 16, 2022, following a distinguished career spanning several county sheriff's offices dating back to late 2017. Throughout his tenure, Sheriff Clark has demonstrated expertise in administration, command, and various specialized divisions, including SWAT, Special Response Team, K9 Unit, and Investigations. Renowned for his ability to multitask while maintaining a steadfast commitment to his duties, Sheriff Clark has earned admiration for his dedication to his job, his fellow deputies, and the citizens of the county.
His experience encompasses a wide range of challenging situations, from handling bank robberies and hostage crises to defusing bomb threats and thwarting attempts to undermine his department, as witnessed in 2023. Tirelessly dedicated to upholding the safety and well-being of all citizens, deputies, and higher authorities under his jurisdiction, Sheriff Clark's comprehensive skill set ensures the continued protection and respect of Cherokee County and its residents. Rest assured, with Sheriff Clark at the helm, Cherokee County remains in capable hands.
