This book traces galaxy formation as seen through structure. The book includes a discussion of how to classify and quantify the structures of galaxies in the local universe, as well as the type of data where we can examine earlier galaxies, such as with the Hubble Space Telescope. The bulk of the book concerns what we can learn from this structure and how we have applied it to distant galaxies, thus far.
I have published, with William Sheehan, a popular book on astronomy called "Galactic Encounters: Our Majestic and Evolving Star-System, From the Big Bang to Time's End." You can purchase a copy from amazon or other places books are sold.
