Welcome to our team page. We are a newly established lab and actively seeking dedicated students with a strong interest in turbulent combustion, machine learning, and computational modeling. Our lab focuses on developing physics-informed, data-driven methods to tackle challenges such as turbulence–chemistry interactions, multiphase flows, and high-fidelity simulations. If you have experience or a keen interest in these areas, we encourage you to consider joining our collaborative environment. We value rigorous inquiry, thoughtful problem-solving, and a commitment to advancing combustion technology. For more information on opportunities with our team, please feel free to reach out.

Research Interests:
Dr. Jay Patel’s research interests span combustion chemistry, chemical kinetics, and machine learning. His current work focuses on the development of physics-informed machine learning frameworks, with particular emphasis on Neural ODE–based data-driven models for accelerating reactive flow simulations. He is also engaged in studying detailed chemical kinetic mechanisms for energetic materials and alternative fuels to gain insights into decomposition pathways, combustion processes, and pollutant formation. Additionally, he is working on advanced computational flame diagnostics to gain a deeper understanding of reacting-flow phenomena. Collectively, these efforts are directed toward enhancing combustion efficiency, reducing emissions, and advancing the transition to cleaner energy systems.
