The 71st TEFLIN International Conference was held on October 8–10, 2025, at Universitas Brawijaya in Malang, Indonesia. This year’s theme was “Reimagining English Language Education in the Age of AI and Digital Transformation: Integrating Inclusive Education and Cultural Diversity.” More details about the conference can be found on the official website: 71st TEFLIN International Conference.
I presented a session titled “Iterative Prompting and Reflective Collaboration: A Framework for Responsible AI Use in ESL Writing.” Through the use of collaborative personas and strategic constraints, my paper proposes a learner-centered framework to foster learner autonomy that integrates Iterative Prompting (the strategic design and sequencing of instructions for AI tools) with Reflective Collaboration (the process of critically evaluating AI output). The presentation advocates for this framework as a powerful tool for designing writing assignments that cultivate Responsible AI Use by empowering English as a Second Language (ESL) writers with critical AI literacy and Large Language Model (LLM) prompt proficiency.
