6th Graders Enjoy Camp
(From the Clinton Topper May 1, 1980)

One-hundred and three sixth grade students in the Clinton Junior High School returned Friday from a five- day camp out at Camp Upham Woods near Wisconsin Dells. Various outdoor activities were undertaken during the week. including nature hike and learning about animals and their habitats, said Principal Roger Noe. "The students had a good time and were able to learn a lot that they couldn't have in an ordinary classroom situation." The pupils traveled by school bus to the camp, which was rented from the University of Wisconsin. Unfortunately, Noe said about 30 pupils, along with several of their chaperones, became ill with the flu, but they were able to stick it out at the camp. Besides the 103 students. there were 14 chaperones, including a nurse and a cafeteria supervisor.
