Marcelo J.S. de Lemos obtained his PhD from Purdue University in 1983, School of Nuclear Engineering, USA. He is Full Professor at Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica-ITA, Fellow at ASME, Fellow at RAeS (UK), Associate Fellow at AIAA and Member at ASTFE. He received in 2021 Fulbright Foundation Chair ("Fulbright Distinguished Chair"), Purdue University, USA. He has been Head of the Department of Energy IEM-E/ITA since 3/2012, founder and Head of the Transport Phenomena Computing Laboratory-LCFT/ITA since 4/2000. He was Head of the IEX-C/ITA Cooperation and Extension Division from 3/2014 to 4/2016. He was Teaching Assistant at Purdue University from 7/1980 to 12/1980, Resident Associate at Argonne National Laboratory, USA, from 7/1984 to 6/1986, Gastwissenschaftler at Ruhr-Universität-Bochum, Germany, from 5/1991 to 7 /1992. He is a member of the ASME's CFDTC-Computational Fluid Dynamics Technical Committee and the AIAA's TESTC-Terrestrial Energy Systems Technical Committee. He was a member of the International Advisory Board of VIRTUHCON Research Initiative - Phase I, Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, from 2006 to 2015. He coordinated a joint research project with Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, from 2006 to 2010. Published 210 papers listed in ISI Web-of-Science (h=29), 212 papers in SCOPUS (h=32), 314 papers in Google Scholar (h=35), 190 papers listed in Microsoft Academic and 357 papers and abstracts in proceedings of events. It has 9 book chapters and 5 books (1 co-edited, 3 published and 1 re-edited). It has 2 software and other 65 technical production items. He supervised 31 master's dissertations and 12 doctoral theses, in addition to having supervised 13 scientific initiation works and 6 course conclusion works in the areas of Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering. He has received 15 awards and/or honors. He is Executive Editor-South America of the International Journal of Energy for a Clean Environment, a member of the Honorary Editorial Advisory Board of the Int. J. Heat & Mass Transfer and the Int. Comm. Heat & Mass Transfer, Editor, Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics, member of the J. Porous Media Editorial Advisory Boards, Special Topics and Reviews In Porous Media, Int. J.
