After the workshops, links to the recordings (if available) will be posted in the Moodle Advising Resources & Training site, to which all faculty and staff advisors should have access. In this workshop, we'll walk through the purpose and process of submitting Early Alerts/Kudos for your students. We'll talk about who the alert goes to, when to submit them, and how to submit them, and where they go after they are submitted.

This first of two required trainings sessions for new faculty advisors delves into how advising works here at CCC&TI. We discuss the structure and process of advising, how advisors are assigned, technology used for advising, and dig into the expectations for both advisors and students.

This second of two required training sessions for new faculty advisors walks you through the entire advising process, including before, during, and after the advising session. We will take a brief look at how to use Watermark (Aviso) and Self-Service while advising (although please attend the more detailed workshops on each of those systems for more helpful information). We cover some questions to ask advisees, the advisor's role in approving or not approving the student's academic plans, and how to document the advising session after the fact.

In this workshop, we learn more about navigating Self-Service in regards to advising and academic planning for students. We'll cover viewing a student's record, finding their program requirements, planning and approving/denying courses, and documenting advising sessions by adding notes and archiving plans. This workshop will be especially helpful for new faculty members or those that simply need a refresher!

In this workshop, we learn more about navigating Watermark's success and retention tools. We'll cover viewing your course roster or advising caseload, using filters to generate a custom list of students, viewing current course information, and sending messages and alerts to students.
