Reaching Back Reaching Forward:
Interactive Listening Gatherings
Rooting is an audio documentary about white European Americans confronting, race, past, present, and humanity, produced by Emily Krumberger.
These listening gatherings will engage all the senses, creating a space for people to listen to 5-10 minute clips from the documentary in themed sections, respond to them through writing, sensory practices, or plant medicine. 1-2 interviewees from the project will be present and offer dialogue or practices to share.
Attendees might be encouraged to bring a story of a family ritual or family member to interweave in the night's activities.

The Cultural Wellness Center has launched a capital campaign to build a permanent home to continue its good work in the community, Dreamland on 38th. Dreamland will benefit the whole community! Dreamland will be a flexible, supportive work space and community gathering space for African American entrepreneurs, working at the intersection of food and heritage. Dreamland builds on the work that CWC has done since 1996 to unleash the power of people to heal themselves and to build community. Located just a few blocks from George Floyd Square, Dreamland will anchor African American-owned economic development and cultural preservation in an area that has been harmed by redlining, displacement, and racial covenants.
