As part of this milestone event, during the Congress, Mr. Gerasol joined the House of Delegates and was elected as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc., taking a vital role in strengthening national communication, visibility, and collaborative initiatives among librarians in the Philippines.
With this strengthened network and renewed collaboration, the CCB LRC looks forward to bringing more opportunities, innovations, and high-quality services to the City College of Bayawan.

Last November 19, the CCB-Learning Resource Center personnel participated in a benchmarking visit to the University of San Carlos โ Downtown Campus to explore innovative library services, digital resources, and modern learning spaces.
Through our visit to the Law Library and SBE Library, we gained meaningful insights that will help us strengthen research support, enhance access to information, and enrich student learning experiences at CCB-LRC.
We look forward to bringing new ideas and best practices to our community as we continue to develop a library that inspires curiosity, fosters academic growth, and empowers every Bayawanon learner!

This CPD-accredited activity, approved for 8 CPD points, provided an avenue for librarians and information professionals to enhance their research skills, refine scholarly writing, and strengthen their contributions to the growing body of LIS literature.
Representing CCB-LRC, Mr. Gerasol, who also serves as the PLAI-NIRLC Public Relations Officer, supported the eventโs technical and publicity needs, while Ms. Galapate, PLAI-NIRLC Negros Oriental Representative, served as the emcee for the two-day seminar.

The outreach was a collaborative initiative of the Academic Libraries Book Acquisition Systems Association (ALBASA), Inc. and the American Corners of Cebu, Dumaguete, and Zamboanga, aiming to promote early childhood literacy and strengthen community engagement through interactive storytelling and book donations.
Mr. Gerasol was part of the organizing committee, provided logistical support and assisted in the facilitation of various activitiesโincluding the smooth coordination of the storytelling session and distribution of school supplies for the childrenn. Ms. Galapate served as the event Emcee keeping the flow engaging and interactive for the children and guests.
A memorable highlight was the storytelling of โThe Giving Treeโ by Shel Silverstein, thoughtfully narrated by Mrs. Ma. Lorna A. Eguia, RL, MS, Head Librarian of Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine, Inc. The story captivated the children and shared timeless values of love, sacrifice, and generosity.
The activity concluded with the donation of books to the day care center by ALBASA and the American Corners, providing essential learning materials to support early education. Snacks were also distributed to the children, followed by a cheerful photo session with the community.
This meaningful outreach underscores the City College of Bayawanโs librariansโ commitment to literacy advocacy, community service, and professional collaborationโnurturing young minds and strengthening the role of libraries as agents of positive change.

As the Publication Materials Artist, Mr. Gerasol was responsible for designing and producing the visual materials that effectively showcased the eventโs theme, โALBASA 5-n-1 @ 51: Library as Catalyst for Community Well-being and Progress.โ His creative work contributed to the professional and engaging atmosphere of the assembly.
Meanwhile, Ms. Galapate served as the Emcee for the opening program, fellowship night, and outreach program. Her confident hosting and dynamic delivery helped maintain a smooth flow of the event and encouraged active participation from attendees.
Their involvement in ALBASA highlights the City College of Bayawanโs commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration within the library community.
The 51st ALBASA Assembly gathered librarians and information professionals from across the country, reinforcing the vital role libraries play in advancing community progress and academic excellence.
Learning Resource Center Participates in City College of Bayawan First General Orientation

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) actively participated in the CCB General Orientation held on July 11, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the CCB Hall. The event gathered incoming students and faculty to introduce essential campus services and support units.
Representing the LRC, Mr. Elmark I. Gerasol delivered a comprehensive presentation that highlighted the library's resources, services, digital platforms, and guidelines to promote effective academic research and study habits among students.
Serving as the host and emcee for the event was Ms. Sharmaine L. Galapate, also a librarian, who facilitated the flow of the program and engaged participants throughout the activity.
The orientation aimed to familiarize students with key departments and ensure a smooth transition into the academic environment. The LRCโs involvement underscores its commitment to supporting the institutionโs mission of academic excellence and student success.
