I. Structured Presentation (80 pts)
A. Communicative success (10pts)
Audience understands the entire message.
B. Pronunciation (10pts)
Vowels and consonants resonate beautifully. Rhythm is even, and there are no errors with silent endings.
C. Fluency (10pts)
Speech is smooth; presenter comfortable and confident in use of the language.
D. Vocabulary (10pts)
Presenter shows control of a wide range of vocabulary and always uses vocabulary appropriately.
E. Grammar (10pts)
Presenter uses appropriate academic grammatical structures and shows consistent control of those structures. Communication is never impeded due to grammatical errors.
F. Presentation (10pts)
Presentation is creative and appropriate. Amount of time spent conversing is impressive and the topic is covered with a lot of detail and imagination.
G. Non-verbal Communication (10pts)
Presenter pays excellent attention to dress, tone of voice, gestures and posture, use of space, use of time
H. Use of Sources/References (10pts)
Presenter integrates citations in the presentation and provides a references list at the end
II. “Natural Speech” (20pts)
A. Comprehension (10 pts)
Presenter understands all questions. No need for rephrasing/repeating or gesturing for you to understand a question.
B. Response (10pts)
Presenter responds appropriately to all questions, frequently volunteering more information than a simple response would require.
