CORE FUNCTION

The Central Bicol Experiment Station (CBES) –is recognized as one of the main institutions in the field of research and development on rice production and mechanization in Bicol. The Station (CBES), still continue its endeavor to provide technologies that will address the needs of our fellow farmers, elevate their knowledge and technical skills, improve their farming methods, and contribute the food and product development sector, particularly the current rice industry in the region. The CBES had been and will always be ready to provide people especially farmers with agricultural updates responsive to the agricultural demands of its clients in order to heighten understanding, thus increasing income and provide better quality of living.

With these, the Station’s Vision and Mission is hereunder stated:

VISION:

A leading and technologically-equipped station in the field of research and development, crop production, and diversification, empowering farmers and small –to medium enterprises towards sustainable agriculture and advancement of food industry in the region.

MISSION:

1. Provide new and advanced production technologies on rice and other agricultural commodities, generated through research and technology demonstrations, to elevate the farming methods in the region.

2. Empower farmers through mechanized production and technical support,

3. Generate technologies and product development to support local food industry.

MANPOWER

The Central Bicol Experiment Station spearheaded by the OIC-CBESSuperintendent Mr. Marianito A. Tesorero and is composed of the following operating units as follows;

(1) Rice Production Unit headed by Mr. Anacleto B. Esplana and. Conrado B. Tirao as Office-in-charge,

(2) Vegetable & Legume Seeds Production Unit headed by Mr. Joseph H. Escober, and

(3) Plant Propagation and Nursery Development Unit and

(4) Research For Development Unit headed by Engr. John Leonard B. Andaya.

There are seven (7) permanent personnel manning the station with a total of 35 non-permanent personnel, eleven (11) Contract of Service, and twenty-four (24) Job orders working at the different units at the station.
