Western anesthesia Residents

Zaid Alhasani

Medical School: University of Cork, Ireland

I was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area in an Iraqi-Canadian family. After completing two years of Life Sciences at McMaster University, I attended the Direct Entry Medicine program at UCC in Ireland, where I spent the last five years of my life.

Studying in Ireland has given me the opportunity to travel Europe, explore various cultures, and meet people from around the world. I love rock climbing (…and pretty much all other sports), hiking, cooking, and playing the guitar. I’m extremely excited to come back home and spend the next five years training in my dream specialty!

Zach Androschuk

I was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. I completed Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph, medical school at Western – Windsor campus, and Family Medicine residency at Queens University. For the last three years I have been a military physician in Petawawa, while also practicing Emergency Medicine in nearby rural hospitals. With my wife, Carly, we have two children: Zeke and Eve. My wonderful marriage has survived hanging pictures in various homes throughout the years and we are hoping for the best as we move to our next home in the London area. Outside of medicine, I spend most of my time hanging out with family and friends and I think Survivor is a great show. I enjoy playing most sports; I played football during undergrad, but now have branched out to basketball, hockey, ultimate frisbee, tennis, squash, or pickleball. I’m incredibly grateful to be joining the Anesthesia team at Western!
