A peer mentorship initiative developed by the Graduate Student Council, designed to cultivate a robust network among graduate students in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The program aims to help students navigate academics in their first two years of school and advance smoothly into candidacy; establish a communication grid for graduate students; and create a support system for every graduate student in need of assistance.
The program intends to achieve these aims while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment within the community and ensuring that the workload of the program on either the mentor or the mentee never impedes on coursework, teaching, or research.
Who can be involved in Project Mentor?
Any graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry!
Project Mentor matches groups of 3rd-6th years with groups of 1st-2nd years so mentees can seek assistance from older students with experience in the subject matter.
