Welcome to my site. I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Tulsa, where my passion for research and a deep curiosity about the world drives my work each day. I earned my Ph.D. in Finance at Florida State University, an experience that honed my analytical skills and reinforced my lifelong commitment to learning and discovery. Before joining the academic community, I gained valuable experience in residential and commercial brokerage—helping to found a real estate brokerage and working for the largest home builder in Tennessee. This experience provided a practical perspective on the financial principles I study.

My research focuses on Corporate and Real Estate Finance, with a keen interest in the interplay between corporate political connections, real estate investment strategies, and the economic forces that shape corporate decision-making. I am fascinated by how established financial theories inform real-world market behavior and strategic management. Additionally, I have recently embarked on exploring the potential applications of artificial intelligence in finance and real estate, seeking to understand how emerging technologies can further enhance our analytical and strategic approaches in these fields.

I welcome inquiries and discussions on finance, real estate market trends, and opportunities for academic collaboration. Please feel free to reach out to me at cayman-seagraves@utulsa.edu. I look forward to engaging with fellow scholars, industry professionals, and students committed to advancing our understanding of finance and real estate.
