There are several aspects to a successful causal analysis in the network setting: (a) specifying the quantity of interest, (b) collecting the right kind of data, and (c) accounting for the network in the estimation procedure. To properly address these questions this symposium aims to bring together theorists, methodologists and practitioners across network science from statistics, computer science, machine learning and physics. These disciplines have been paramount in the development of both network science and causal inference and bring in a diversity of perspectives. By bringing everyone together under one roof, this symposium will allow for a natural sharing of ideas, techniques and new challenges for the larger community to address together.
