We're working with Kirklees Council's Growing Great Places fund to build an outdoor classroom in the centre of the park.
We hope to add 8 sleeper benches, a story chair and reinforce the outer walls of the classroom with cages to be filled with materials from the woodland to invite bugs and other creature to explore the environment.
Up until February this year, the space was overgrown with wild blackberry and roses that were 15 feet high. We want the children of the local area to use the space for learning about their environment and feel safe in doing so.
Our friends at Tranformers North have cleared the space for us and now we have our funding, we can begin developing the site into a functional, usable space.
Get in touch if you're interested in helping create a woodland we can all enjoy.
