The event is jointly organised by Carfield Friends, Friends of Meersbrook Bank, and Friends of Newfield, and is raising money for all 3 PTAs. We aim to be a green event, so please use public transport, cycle, jog or walk where possible and bring your own water bottle. There is limited car parking at Newfield School car park, so please carshare if you need to come by car.
There will be refreshments and food stalls on the day so bring cash! This year you can also pre-order a post race bacon, sausage or vegan sausage butty with your entry for just £4.
Cat Lane Canter is a trail run that takes place in Cat Lane Woods. The route is very hilly and can be muddy. The route takes place on footpaths and trods that are open to all. Please respect other users of the woods.
The fun run consists of a couple of laps of Newfield School field.

Unfornutately this is a no dogs event.
5km or 10km?
We warmly welcome runners of all abilities. The event relies solely on volunteers, many of whom will be marshalling the course to make sure runners don't get lost and the event runs smoothly. So that marshals don't need to be out for too long, the course will close after 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you think you might take longer than this to run 10km, please consider entering the shorter course instead.
Every year we get runners entering the 10km who then drop down to the 5km which causes problems with the results. If you’re not sure you can run a hilly off-road 10km please enter the 5km. If you’re enjoying yourself so much after 5km you can continue on the full 10km route.
