Welcome to the Unplugged Training Station! This is the No-Computer Fun Zone! This is the special place where you get to play thinking games and solve puzzles without using a computer at all (except for reading these instructions).
In this station you will practice following and writing algorithms and debug if needed.
You will work by yourself. Don't worry if you get stuck, your teacher or classmate can help you.
Materials you will find in this station:
pencil
blue, green, red and black crayons
scissors
printed copies of the activities you will do
There are four activities. Complete 2 of these activities.
Remember you have 25 minutes to do the activities. Watch the timer on the screen.
Help Moby Find the Treasure: Follow the algorithm to find the treasure.
Where is Moby?: Use conditional statements to find Moby.
Paper Airplane: Create an algorithm to make a paper airplane. You can share your algorithm with a classmate to test it.
Graph Paper Programming: Are you up for a challenge? Then you will like this activity. Choose an image and draw out "programs" or code for that image. An example is given on how to complete this activity on page 1. You may trade programs with another classmate and draw one another’s image.
Try a graph paper activity! If you already did one, try another image.
