The spike trap is activated after a short delay when catgirl steps onto its sensors. The spikes do damage equal to 80/70/60/50% of catgirl's max life.
Most creatures are instantly killed by it (the exceptions are fever, marrow, sunny and sunkensunny).
The gates will close after catgirl passes through them. They will open again after a few seconds.
It is possible to pass through a gate and return through it before it closes.
The game has four difficulty settings: casual / easy / medium / hard.
The damage and healing numbers are often described in the format a/b/c/d corresponding to the difficulties.
Catgirl's life timer is by default 180/30/10/5 seconds.
Enemies move faster and spike traps trigger quicker on higher difficulties.
The game uses auto-aiming by default. This puts the focus on the puzzle/movement element of the game.
Manual aiming can be turned on in the main menu by flipping the light switch on the right. It can also be toggled on/off by pressing "Q" in game. Manual aiming is for keyboard and mouse only.
