About Valentino
I am Valentino Botha, studying at the University of Johannesburg. I am part of the Faculty of Education studying for a Bachelor of Education in Senior & FET Phase Teaching degree. I major in English and School ICT Support. I look forward to learning more about ICT during my studies so I can become an ICT specialist in the future. In my FET Phase of school, I did Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, and Mathematical Literacy as my electives; English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, and Life Orientation as my compulsory subjects.
I am a hard-working individual who perseveres. I exceptionally solve problems on my own if possible. If group work is required, I can collaborate effectively as well. I find joy in working and activating my brain on an academic level. I preferably work better in a quiet environment. I submit quality work and thus take more time than average on tasks. I can get creative depending on the context.
Purpose of this website:
This website will explain how to develop a positive Digital Citizenship towards a Personal Digital Identity, focusing on key concepts such as Cyberbullying, Ethics/Copyright, Privacy, Media Literacy, Information Literacy, Communication and Collaboration. I will elaborate on these concepts and focus on how to implement these concepts in Computer Application Technology (CAT) as a Further Education and Training Phase (FET) subject in secondary schools. I will utilise various resources, including academic sources, videos, and images, to discuss these concepts. After learning about these concepts, there will be a short assessment in the form of a quiz. References will follow, which are only for the section above it.
From there onwards, there will be a variety of tasks that briefly display my skills in ICT. Some of these skills include creating Open Educational Resources (OERs), a video essay, an interactive eBook, Microsoft Educator Certificates I earned, and so on.
Social Media Links:
The purpose of the following links is to access my online accounts where you will be able to see images of me and various other images, see ICT-related videos, see what topics and who I am currently following, view my online library document which has been annotated, and view the five articles I have published which were created by the specified authors on the texts.

How can these social media platforms - Twitter, Diigo, LinkedIn, and Scoop It - be integrated into the teaching and learning context of Computer Application Technology?
These social media platforms are no longer used solely for leisure purposes. Instead, they are used to enhance teaching and learning in the twenty-first century. Teachers may include these social media platforms in their pedagogies by creating accounts and instructing learners to do the same. They can then utilize these platforms to teach learners as an alternative method to face-to-face teaching. However, teachers should only consider using these platforms if their learners have the necessary resources to make use of these technologies. If learners do not have the necessary resources, they should then only be taught how to use these platforms in the classroom to serve as practice.
