SOLIDWORKS is used by millions of designers and engineers at hundreds of thousands of companies. It’s one of the most popular design and engineering software on the market. Known for its range of features and high functionality, SOLIDWORKS is used across multiple professions and industries around the world. SOLIDWORKS uses parametric design, which is why it’s such an effective tool for designers and engineers. This means that the designer can see how changes will affect its neighboring components, or even the overall solution. For example, if the size of a single component is increased, this would affect the joint or hole it’s attached to. This allows designers to spot and correct issues quickly and easily
SolidWorks Part 1
This lesson includes:
Creating base, boss, and cut features from sketches
Adding fillets to smooth edges
Creating a circular pattern
Adding drawing views
Adding centerlines, center marks, and dimensions to the drawing
This is my base, boss, and cut features from sketch
Adding fillets to smooth edges
Adding circular pattern
Sketch of My Work
Our teacher then challenged us to put together another part, similar to the original but with different factors.
This is a part we were instructed to create to work on some of our skills and to get to understand solid work environment
Lesson 1 - Parts
This is the boss base feature
This is another boss base extrusion this time it is the inner circle.
This is the cut feature.
This is after a filet and a shell cut.
Building the Fillet Features Samples Part
When making the shape to the left, the line tool was used to make the overall shape the proceeded to use smart dimension to get the precise measurements need for the angles and sides.
The shape mentioned above on the right plane so now it will slide over and connect to the original base.
We now have another set of objective for this part
Creating the Revolve Feature
These are my lesson objectives for this solid works project
