Graduate Research Assistant - Palliative Care Lab, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL 2024-

• Draft study documents (e.g., informed consent documents, measures) and assist with IRB approval of study documents.

• Lead recruitment and outreach efforts targeting assisted living facility leadership, staff, residents, and families of residents.

Researcher - Michigan Center for Contextual Factors in Alzheimer's Disease, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 2024

• Selected to participate in a week-long research intensive using life history data from the Health and Retirement Study (HRS).

• Attend lectures on health disparities in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and opportunities to use HRS to better understand disparities in AD.

• Assist data analytic lead on paper investigating the role of early educational experiences on health disparities in AD.

Graduate Research Assistant/Project Manager - Positive Aging Lab, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL 2022-2023

• Lead qualitative audio and video analysis using Atlas.ti software and Nvivo to collect User Experience (UX) data.

• Disseminated usability findings at the Southern Gerontological Society (SGS) Conference (2023) and Gerontological Society of America (GSA) Conference (2022).

• Lead recruitment efforts and interviews with dementia family caregivers and care recipients; coordinate scheduling with memory care unit administrators and staff.

• Train undergraduate research assistants on delivering participant interviews and collecting data.

• Assist with grant applications for (1) a study using smart speakers to target loneliness in older adults and (2) a study using music to reduce agitation in persons with dementia in a group setting.

• Schedule participants for in-person lab visits to collect data for the Feasibility and Enjoyment of Exergame Study (FLEX) and the Everyday Function Intervention Trial (E-FIT).

Volunteer - Gerontological Society of America, Annual Scientific Conference, Tampa, FL 2023

• Assisted in coordinating GSA’s first ‘Careers in Aging Day’ to educate undergraduate students about career opportunities in aging.

• Recruited 12 aging professionals (e.g., hospice social workers, elder law attorneys, AARP state leadership) in the Tampa Bay area to speak to undergraduate students about career opportunities in aging.

• Assist in coaching the first team in school history to win their district competition and advance to their state competition.
