I am currently Vice President of UW Dawg Pack, representing the student section during intercollegiate athletic home games. In this position I work with athletics staff and students to coordinate student engagement events, curate shortform social media content, and support game day operations. I represent UW and Dawg Pack positively through how I continue to show up for my team. This means I am prepared and enthusiastic in RSO meetings, during high profile events, and working behind the scenes. Being a positive representation means I am consistent, accountable, and the way I treat others when things are busy or are going off course.
In the fast-paced, high-energy environment on gamedays, I prioritize communication and intentional actions to meet the commitments that I have made. For example, I strive to ensure my peers' voices are included and properly informed. In my role as vice president, I hold the group accountable through leading by example, making sure responsibilities are shared, and stepping in when something needs to be done.
One of my most valuable contributions to leading this group is the diverse community that my team and I have created. Through this position I have been able to connect with people outside of academic focus, creating connections across disciplines under the shared fanbase of intercollegiate athletics. To create a direct line of communication between our leadership team and RSO members, I piloted a new communication program using the app GroupMe, adding 167 members in under a year. This app has allowed us to create a direct line of communication to students creating a more tightly knit community in our registered student organization.
